Juventus shirts

Black and white stripes, originally adopted from an English club's kit sent over by post. Juventus have used the same two colours for more than a century, and every redesign is measured against how it treats the stripe.

The kit

The Juventus stripe has been wide, narrow, split and, in one much discussed season, abandoned entirely in favour of halves. Fan reaction to each change is immediate and loud, which tells you how much the pattern matters.

Away kits have been where the club takes risks, producing pinks, blues and golds that have become collected in their own right.

Sponsors

The shirt front has carried motor, telecoms and financial brands. Several are now inseparable from the sides that wore them.

Manufacturers

Italian and German manufacturers have produced most Juventus kits, with the fabric weight of the 90s shirts markedly heavier than anything made today.

Buying a Juventus shirt

Fan versions fit true to size. Striped shirts can show uneven fading, so wash inside out and dry flat or on a hanger away from direct sun.
