La Liga

Barcelona shirts

Blue and garnet halves, occasionally stripes, and for most of the club's history no commercial sponsor at all. Barcelona shirts are among the most recognisable in the game and among the most varied, because the club has never stopped reinterpreting the same two colours.

The kit

The blaugrana combination has been constant since the club's earliest years, but the arrangement has not. Vertical stripes, wide halves, thin stripes, block halves, diagonal sashes on away kits: the club treats the palette as a starting point rather than a rule.

The 1990s produced some of the most collected Barcelona shirts, helped by a cut that suits how people wear football shirts today: boxy, long, with a proper collar. Those shirts now sell for multiples of their original price in good condition.

Sponsors

Barcelona famously carried a children's charity on the shirt front from 2006, paying for the privilege rather than being paid, before moving to paid sponsorship in 2011. Shirts from the charity era and from the long unsponsored period before it are the ones people most often ask us to source.

Manufacturers

The club has worked with the same German manufacturer since 1998. Earlier kits came from a range of European makers, and the difference in fabric weight and collar construction is immediately obvious when you handle a shirt from the early 90s next to a modern one.

Buying a Barcelona shirt

Fan versions fit true to size. Player versions run slim, so size up. Barcelona shirts with heavy front printing benefit from being washed inside out and hung to dry rather than tumbled.
